Hailey Woodford began her journey on stage at age six through dance before discovering her love of theatre at fourteen. The Wizard of Oz marks her sixth production with YTYP and a fitting final appearance as a member of the MainStage cast. As she prepares to graduate from high school, it feels especially meaningful to be dreaming big dreams “somewhere over the rainbow” while looking ahead to a gap year before pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts.
Hailey is deeply grateful to the directors, mentors, volunteers and creative teams who have invested their time, talent and encouragement throughout her YTYP journey. She would like to offer an especially heartfelt thank you to the “olders”, the trailblazers who helped build YTYP into the community it is today and who welcomed, mentored and encouraged her throughout her MainStage years. Their guidance, friendship and belief in young performers have left a lasting impact.

Lillian (she/her) is a 16-year-old who attends Porter Creek Secondary School. She has been in love with being on the stage and working to bring characters to life since she was 9 years old and appeared in Tom Stoppard’s Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth. Since then, she has appeared in every YTYP Main Stage show since she played Young Cosette in Les Misérables, as well as finally being old enough to be a part of the senior show Anastasia last summer. Lillian is also very proud to be representing YTYP as the Vice President of the Steering Committee for the second season in a row. Lillian is forever grateful for the lessons YTYP has taught her and the future lessons she is sure to learn. She is so incredibly proud of the fantastic cast and crew, working tirelessly to put this magical show on the stage. She couldn’t be happier to live in the north as both a Yukoner off stage and as The Good Witch on stage.

Halia (she/her) is thrilled to be performing in her last main stage YTYP production after being a part of the company since 2022. She is grateful to be a part of the beautiful community YTYP has built. Halia is graduating and is attending UBC for Geophysics in the fall.
Some of her theatre credits include:
YTYP- Forbidden, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Guild- The Wolves, The Birds
Candlestick Theatre Society- Be More Chill, Firebringer
MAD- Fall semester 2022/Spring semester 2024

Stella (she/her) is 15 years old and has been performing onstage since she was 3 in different styles of dance and musical theatre. Her favourite performances include: Anastasia (YTYP) Frozen (YTYP) and The Nutcracker (NLSD). Stella also trains outside of Whitehorse, having taken classes at Harbour Dance Centre, The Joffrey Ballet school, The Ailey School, Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway, and training in New York as part of the Be Discovered Broadway Bound Intensive program. She fell in love with theatre in 2018, after seeing Phantom of the Opera live on her 8th birthday, and has been obsessed ever since. Stella is beyond excited to perform as the Scarecrow in this production of The Wizard of Oz, and can’t wait to see you all at the Arts Centre!

Nolan (he/him) is a Grade 12 student who is grateful for the opportunity to once again be cast with Yukon Theatre for Young People. As this marks his final mainstage production with the company, Nolan is especially thankful for the many friendships, experiences, and lasting memories he has gained along the way. He looks forward to continuing his theatre journey in summer productions and older age shows. Nolan loves performing for his community and has cherished every moment spent on stage over the years. Theatre has played a meaningful role in his life, helping him grow both as a performer and as a person.

Ben (he/him) is over the rainbow to be YTYP’s Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. Ben’s love for theatre began in Grade 9 when he did his first semester in the MAD program and after his second time doing MAD, he started doing YTYP with CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2025) in the ensemble. He was then an assistant stage manager for both ANASTASIA (2025) & FROZEN (2026). If you’ve known Ben for long enough, you would know that he loves everything that The Wizard of Oz has to offer, from the books to the musicals. He is so excited to play this iconic, timeless character. He hopes to see you there as he goes down the yellow brick road this June!

Juniper (she/her )has enjoyed music and being outside since she was born in 2010. This is her first theatrical production, but not her first time on stage, as she’s performed with the Fiddleheads for 7 years. Besides playing the fiddle, she also plays piano and guitar, and grew up singing along with Glee and Disney movies. Juniper was adopted into the Deisheetaan Clan and spends time fishing, trapping and hunting with her dad and grandma in Carcross/Tagish First Nation territory.
When Juniper was cast as the Coroner, she didn’t know what that was, but found out her granny was a real-life Coroner - and a trained actor. Juniper dedicates her performance to her theatre grandpa, who passed away last year.
Juniper has made new friends through this production, had fun and learned a lot at rehearsals. She is happy and excited to be part of the Wizard of Oz with YTYP.

Myla (she/her) is 12 years old and attends Whitehorse Elementary School. She has been in 3 productions through The Heart of Riverdale’s Musical Theatre program, including playing Jane Banks in Mary Poppins. This is her first show with YTYP and she is excited to be a part of it!

Off stage, Arthur loves his advanced parkour classes at the Yukon Gymnastics Centre, pushing the envelopes of speed and vertical on his skis at Mount Sima, gaming with his friends, and, of course, lollipops. Arthur has had a blast playing a munchkin Tough Guy in The Wizard of Oz and working with everyone at YTYP!

As a dedicated member of the Pre-Professional Program at Heart of Riverdale, Crosby continues to level up his skills in both breakdance and hip hop. Always ready for a new challenge, he’s excited to join YTYP’s upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz. Whether he’s lighting up the stage or owning the dance floor, Crosby brings big energy, sharp focus, and a whole lot of heart wherever he goes.

When not dancing, she can be found chasing after her three-year-old diva daughter, dog, or goats.

Born and raised on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Valérie (she/her) has been dancing for over twenty years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University, where she was also awarded the Lipson Family Endowment Award in recognition of her choreography. In 2018, Valérie moved home to give back to the Yukon’s arts community by joining the team at The Heart of Riverdale, where she was Artistic Director from 2018-2023. As a dance artist, Valérie has created a substantial body of work and has performed locally and nationally. Valérie choreographed her first musical, Hadestown: Teen Edition, in 2024 (YTYP), followed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2025 (YTYP). She’s had a blast working with the incredible cast and creative team of The Wizard of Oz!

Angellina is excited to be joining Yukon Theatre for Young People for the first time as Senior Assistant Stage Manager for The Wizard of Oz. A lifelong fan of musicals, she grew up singing and performing and has always been drawn to the power of storytelling through music. She is excited to now help bring stories to life from behind the scenes. By day, Angellina is a teacher of nine years, where organization, collaboration, and a love of storytelling are central to her work. She is grateful for the opportunity to support such a talented cast and creative team.

Peighten hopes you enjoy the show!

Ella (she/her) has been part of YTYP since the beginning, and she has loved it for many years! This was the second year that she has not performed in the Main Stage show, because she has finally aged out after many years. However, she is absolutely thrilled to be helping behind the scenes with makeup! Ella hopes to see you at the show, and witness all of the hard work these incredible kiddos have been putting in!

A three-time Music, Art, and Drama student, Chris (he/him) has been doing backstage theatre for the better part of a decade and started working with YTYP on Newsies as a performer. After graduating from high school, Chris went straight to work at the Yukon Arts Centre as a technical intern during his gap year before enrolling in the Performance Production Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he has just graduated! Having worked with YTYP on many shows backstage and building sets, he is excited to get the opportunity to be the head of props for this show.
